I am so thankful to be a part of Beat-The-Block right now, because man - I was doing so well for a while there, being able to push out art - but this last week or so, has just been really, really difficult.

This weeks prompt on Beat-The-Block is "Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows frowers, not thunder" ~Rumi Which was chosen by the wonderful and tallented ShackledMuse. I've got a few ideas running around in my head, so hopefully I can get something out.

I've been sketching a little bit here and there, but finishing a full piece has been getting harder and harder. However, I am hopefull that will turn about shortly, and I will be able to get back at it ^_^!

Beat The Block is a new group that I have become a Co-Founder for, and It's really awesome! The group is aimed at helping people overcome that very pesky art/writers block! We put up a Journal every monday with a prompt for artists and writers to interpret however they wish, and we hope to soon be able to turn the prompts into mini contests, which is really awesome

We also have a Recomend a Friend journal every week on Wednesday and are consistantly comming up with new ideas to help our group improve and grow. Our group is pretty small right now, but we're all very supportive of each other and really do want to help fellow artists improve and feel good about their work!

In other news - I have been slack on doing artwork lately as work has been super hectic. I took on a second job a little bit ago, I love it - Ive worked there before, and it's a great job, but it can get so busy! Half the time Im not even working in my home city, so I havn't had a whole lot of time as of late. The day's that I have had off, I've been helping my parents move, and visiting with them .... Occasionaly I'm just really lazy too ( -_-' oops)!

Hopefully now that I've gotten a bit more used to being this busy I'll be able to focus a bit more on squeezing a bit of art out more regularly

I've also started doing research on Faery Lore/Craft and it's been really interesting and inspiring! The book I just read was Faery Craft ~ Weaving Connections with the Enchanted Realm by Emily Carding and it's been a really fascinating read. If you're at all interesting in that sort of thing, I highly recommend this book! The pictures are beautiful, and learning something new is always fun.

I'm hoping I can take some of the insperation I've found in this book and turn it into some neat peices of art!

Hello all

Been doing a surprising amount of art lately, and I'm actually really proud of myself. I'm trying REALLY hard to not focus on the things in my drawing that I don't like, and focuse more on the things I am doing well. Trying to get out of the habbit of overthinking, and stressing myself out... Art is something I enjoy, and it's something that is supposed to be fun. I've spent so long trying to be perfect, trying to get everything done 100% right on the first go and really bringing myself down because of it. It stopped being fun for a really long time because of that.

Trying to remember that I'm still learning, and I will always be learning, and that I'm not going to be able to do everything perfectly the first time is a mindset that I need to teach myself, and that's been hard.

I'm hoping that I can grow out of it, and grow more as an artist because of it.

I really appreciate all of the people that support me in this endevour. You all mean so much to me, so thank you.

Wow... it uuhh... It's been a while.

Back to doing a bit of art - no promises that I'll be posting regularly, but I shall try. Feels good to be back!
The sun was SHINING today! It's even +4 right now - thats pretty awesome It was -50 a couple weeks ago so this is a welcome and inspiring change
